Marcello Cuneo
Marcello Cuneo was born in Italy in 1933. He lived and worked in Milan, where he graduated in architecture. After studying law, he returned to architecture and also studied painting, sculpture and ceramics.
From 1959 to 1962, he worked with the architect Lino Saltini and later, from 1962 to 1970, with the architect Gio Ponti, with whom he carried out important international projects such as office buildings, department stores, museums, churches and villas.
Since 1971 he has been working as a freelancer developing projects in different areas - architecture, interior design, industrial design and textile design.
Marcello Cuneo is a reference in the design world. His name is recognized all over the world and his work is synonymous with high-quality design.
Throughout his life, he has received several awards, including honorable mentions at the Compasso D'oro in 1979 and the A. Palladio and Guten Industrieform awards. His experience was recognized by design professionals, and he was appointed to the jury of the Faenza prize in 1974. His work has been featured in many prestigious exhibitions, including Italy: the new Domestic Landscape at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
He designed legendary pieces such as the Longobarda lamp (1966), the Luisa folding chairs (1970) and the Mac armchair (1976). These timeless pieces continue to appeal to design enthusiasts.
