Gastone Rinaldi
Gastone Rinaldi was born in Padua in 1920.
He graduated in law from the Belzoni Institute, but his passion was design and sport. He started working for Rima in Padua, a metal furniture manufacturer founded by his father Mario Rinaldi in 1916. He played professional soccer and took part in the Mille Miglia car race. In 1948, together with his brother Giorgio, he took over the management of the family business. In 1974, he founded Thema, which closed in 1989.
Throughout his career as a designer, he had the opportunity to collaborate with the most renowned Italian designers and architects, including Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Alberto Rosselli and Michele de Lucchi. Gastone Rinaldi has received numerous design awards and some of his projects are part of the collections of major museums.
