FAI (Fátima Arquitetura Interiores), dentified in the market as Móveis Fatima, was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1960 by architects Guilherme Nunes and Sávio Visconti, and was dedicated to the development of interiors and furniture, integrating architecture, decoration, and the applied arts.
According to available records, the project also functioned as a space for experimentation and as a gallery, promoting a more author-driven approach to design and encouraging the creation of furniture pieces through competitions and collaborations.
The production associated with FAI is characterized by clean lines and a modernist language, with particular attention to construction details and the use of materials such as fine woods (including jacaranda), leather, natural fabrics, and cane.
Today, various pieces appear on the Brazilian vintage market, valued for their connection to modernism and to the tradition of architecturally driven interior design in 20th-century Brazil.
