Ateliers Céramique Rigo Bruxelles
An artistic ceramics workshop active in Brussels, primarily during the 1950s and 1960s. Renowned for its hand-painted art ceramics, the Rigo ateliers are distinguished by pieces featuring expressive motifs such as fleurs-de-lis, animals, and floral compositions, using rich glazes and intense colours such as cobalt blue and deep burgundy, often combined with gilded accents, reinforcing the artisanal character of the production.
Their work primarily includes vases, bowls, and bonbonnières—decorative objects that reflect detailed craftsmanship and a distinctive ornamental language. The pieces are generally signed “Rigo” or “Ateliers Céramique Rigo Bruxelles,” and may also bear serial numbers.
Today, these ceramics are part of the Belgian vintage design landscape and are sought after by collectors for both their artistic quality and their representation of 20th-century European ceramic production.
