Since it was first acquired in the early 1970s, Fulvia and Adolpho Leirner's collection of Brazilian art deco was designed to decorate their own home, as a counterpart to the couple's other collection of constructive art.

Authored by Ana Paula Simioni (IEB-USP) and Luciano Migliaccio (FAU-USP), the book analyzes each piece in the collection, going over the various artistic aspects of the period based on what stands out in each item. Each work is accompanied by information on its journey through exhibitions and publications. As well as being an unprecedented document on the period, the book demonstrates the importance of the couple's work as collectors and recalls the formation of the art market in Brazil.
