Carlo Moretti, Murano Venice
Carlo Moretti started working with glass at the age of fifteen, as an apprentice at Venini, a famous glass company in Murano.
In 1958, he founded Moretti with his brother Giovanni. Since his father was a glass merchant, it wasn't difficult to learn and master glassmaking techniques. His workshop quickly began to gain international popularity.
Each piece of glass was individually blown and numbered, making each object a unique collector's item.
Carlo Moretti is a perfect blend of tradition and exceptional design. His own company, "Vetreria Carlo Moretti", quickly became known in the world of Italian design.
Moretti's creations are often characterized by their minimalist and elegant design combined with the bold use of bright colors. He also experimented with sculptural forms, creating unique pieces that are considered works of art in glass.
In addition to his work as a glass designer, Moretti has also collaborated with renowned brands in the fashion world, such as Hermès, Armani and Prada, creating glass accessories for their collections.
Today, Carlo Moretti's work is sought after by collectors and exhibited in museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
His contribution to Italian design has been recognized by the Italian government, which awarded him the prestigious title of "Cavaliere del Lavoro" in 2003.
